Bootscooting fun for all

Edward Kays has a love of all things line dancing and he’s keen to share it with others in Bacchus Marsh and beyond.

He’s run the Neon Cowboy Bootscooters dance studio since April last year, but he’s been line dancing for decades. .

“My mum used to do line dancing when I was younger, so on my days off or when I was home sick, she’d take me with her,” Mr Kays said.

“Eventually I got hooked and started joining in.”

For the last thirty years, line dancing has been a fixture in Mr Kays’ life and a source of joy.

“Line dancing is my release, I don’t have to think about anything, I can just have fun, groove along to the music and just enjoy what I’m doing,” he said.

His new teaching venture is a way for him to spread his joy and share his passion with others.

“The way I describe it to people is, it’s the perfect combination of being able to socialise, exercise and have fun, all while listening to some awesome music,” Mr Kays said.

“The line dancing community is very welcoming, anyone can come, you don’t need a partner, you don’t need boots and a hat.”

The Neon Cowboy Bootscooters classes run in Bacchus Marsh on Monday evenings and Maddingley on Wednesday mornings.
