The state government will provide $1.6 million for 269 community organisations to share, in a boost for multicultural festival events throughout Victoria.
Grants are aimed at assisting multicultural community organisations across the state celebrate their culture with all Victorians, including those in Melton and Moorabool, for events happening between January 1 and June 30 next year.
Multicultural Affairs minister Ros Spence said the government was proud to support and celebrate the state’s diversity while helping local economies.
“The Multicultural Festivals and Events Program ensures our multicultural and multifaith communities can share their traditions, culture and identity with all Victorians,” she said.
The government said more than 245 ethnicities will be supported through the program, including over 100 new and emerging migrant community organisations.
