Melton’s Girl Guides are hitting the streets to tempt locals with the organisation’s much-loved biscuits.
Guides will set up stalls and knock on doors as part of the annual biscuit drive to fundraise for their Guiding activities.
Money raised will help fund programs that empower girls and help them develop leadership and valuable life skills.
Girl Guides Victoria state commissioner Lynne Emblem said Guide biscuits were more than a delicious treat.
“They’re also a Guiding tradition and a way for us to support and empower girls,” she said.
“Guide Biscuits have been a tradition now for over 60 years and the purchase of the biscuits by community members impacts directly on our Guides at a local level.”
Melton District Guides leader Melanie Bell said the biscuit drive also served a promotion for the Guides.
Ms Bell, who joined the Guides when she was about 14, encouraged her two daughters to follow in her footsteps, and hopes more local girls will join the organisation.
