Mums in Moorabool have a whole ‘village’ to support them through pregnancy thanks to a new program in Bacchus Marsh.

Group co-ordinator Katherine Geurts said sessions cover everything related to pregnancy, birth and early weeks of parenting.

“The Expectant Tribe came about bringing mums together,” Ms Geurts said.

“I came up with the idea because I went from being a busy working woman to being a stay at home mum and I wanted to provide somewhere for women to meet.

“We have a weekly topic, it’s based on what the women want to address or questions they might have.

“Many families move to Bacchus Marsh and people work out of the area … but when they move here they realise that they don’t have that support so it’s great that we have somewhere that’s outside of a mother’s group.”

The Expectant Tribe is open to anyone who is pregnant, it meets at Lerderderg library every Tuesday from 10am to 12.30pm.
