Big name headliner announced for Djerriwarrh Festival

Djerriwarrh Festival is coming back to Melton this November after a three year hiatus, with an exciting act headlining the main stage.

Melton council has announced that ARIA award-winning band Eskimo Joe with lead the line up, adding to the list of big name acts that have rocked the festival’s stage.

The band is known for hits such as Black Fingernails, Red Wine and Foreign Land, amassing 35 ARIA award nominations and winning eight over 25 years of performing.

The full music line up for the festival will be announced over the coming weeks.

Djerriwarrh Festival will also include free kids’ activities, a street parade, market stalls, food trucks, a pet expo and cultural performances, as well as a bonfire and fireworks finale.

Melton mayor Cr Goran Kesic said he looked forward to welcoming Eskimo Joe to the festival this year.

“Eskimo Joe will add to an incredible list of big-name acts that have graced the Djerriwarrh Festival main stage,” Cr Kesic said.

“We’re thrilled to have them perform in the City of Melton, and I’m sure many people in our community will be excited by this announcement.”

Cr Kesic said extensive planning was going into creating an entertaining festival for both residents and visitors to enjoy.

“The festival program is jam-packed with so many amazing things to do, and I look forward to seeing everyone having a great day out,” he said.

“From the colourful street parade to the market, food and live entertainment, it’s good family fun not to be missed!”
