Barbie for the Weir

Residents are being urged to have their say to help prevent the potential closure of the Melton Weirs Picnic Area, with community group Greening Melton – Bacchus calling for urgent feedback by 9 February.

Locals can support the campaign by completing a short six-question survey, with organisers saying even one minute of community input could make a significant difference.

To encourage involvement, a free community barbecue will be held at the Melton Weirs Picnic Area on Exford Road, Weir Views, from 11am to 1pm on Saturday 31 January, featuring sausage sizzles, bottled water and games for children. The event offers residents a chance to enjoy the space, share their views and see why campaigners believe the area should be protected and improved for future use.
