With an extreme fire danger rating expected on Thursday, February 22, for the central district which includes Moorabool Shire and Melton councils, Moorabool will be opening its Ballan Respite Centre.
The respite centre provides a place for community members that will be enacting their personal fire plans to leave early.
It is located at the Ballan Recreation Reserve on Cowrie road and will be open from 9am.
The facility will have refreshments and air conditioning available.
Council staff will be on site.
