Ballan District Health and Care has appointed Rowena Clift as an interim chief executive.
A board, which concluded in April, recommended Ms Clift take on the role.
Ms Clift has worked in healthcare for more than 25 years, including in a variety of executive positions in acute and primary care. Most recently she worked with the Western Victoria Primary Health Network.
Ms Clift said it was exciting to be taking on the role and working to improve the health of the local community.
“My passion and professional focus is ensuring access – and equity in access – of health services in rural and regional Victoria,” she said.
“Let’s keep people healthy.
“I’ll be looking at ways how each of our departments can be strengthened so that Ballan District Health and Care can become viable and sustainable for the community.”
Shawn Lee, who has filled the chief executive position at Ballan health for the past nine months, will move back to his role as director of allied and community health.
