Bacchus Marsh Urgent Care closed after storm

UPDATE:

Western Health has stated that the Bacchus Marsh Urgent Care will be closed until 7am on Sunday August 7.

The organisation cited “extensive storm damage” as the reason for closing.

A program of planned infrastructure works funded by the Department of Health to sections of the hospital’s roof will be expedited this week following the rain damage caused by storms on August 2.

According to the organisation, building contractors were already on site for these planned upgrades to the Bacchus Marsh Hospital were mobilised very quickly to commence the restoration works required as a result of the storm damage.

Western Health chief operating officer John Ferraro thanked the public for their patience.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we thank the community for their patience as we continue to upgrade our facilities at Bacchus Marsh Hospital,” he said.

“Anyone requiring urgent care can attend Melton Health Urgent care.”

The Bacchus Marsh Urgent Care clinic has been temporarily closed due to storm damage occurring overnight.

Destructive winds of up to 110 kilometres per hour were forecast on the evening of Tuesday August 2.

Western Health posted on social media on Wednesday morning that the clinic was temporarily closed.

Residents are advised to instead go to Melton Health Urgent Care at 195 Barries Road, Melton West, if urgent care is needed.

Western Health advised updates will be provided to the public as they become available.
