Attempted murder charge

Police have charged a man following an alleged assault and fire in Bacchus Marsh last week.

The man was arrested at a residential address in Bacchus Marsh on the afternoon of Saturday 7 February after emergency services were called to a fire in Lidgett Street about 9pm on Thursday 5 February.

Upon arrival a 57-year-old man was located with significant burns and airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

A 29-year-old Bacchus Marsh man has since been charged with attempted murder.

It is believed both parties are known to each other.
