More than 600 creations will fill the Bacchus Marsh public hall for Rotary’s upcoming art show.

The art show, in its 47th year and the club’s major annual fundraiser, will be held during the Queen’s Birthday weekend.

Rotary Bacchus Marsh chairman Peter Shilton said the event had developed a considerable following over the years.

“It’s a lovely warm atmosphere on what might be a very cold weekend,” Mr Shilton said.

“The exhibition attracts artists from all over Australia and is enthusiastically supported by local residents and visitors alike.

“It’s the biggest social event in Bacchus Marsh – most artists come back year after year.”

The exhibition will include 650 paintings, watercolours, metal works and sculptures. A well-known artist will paint a portrait at the event to be auctioned later.

Money raised from sales and tickets goes toward Rotary projects.

“This is a much sought-after exhibition opportunity and an important fundraising activity for the Bacchus Marsh Rotary Club, enabling considerable support for many local and international projects,” Mr Shilton said.

The art show opening will run from 7pm on Friday, June 9, with public viewing and sales until Monday, June 12.
