Detectives from the armed crime squad, special operations and police units arrested two men in Caroline Springs last night.
A 19-year-old Melton man was arrested at a shopping centre on Lake Street about 6.30pm.
The arrest comes as detectives continue to investigate a non-fatal shooting which occurred at a service station on Point Cook Road about 6.20am on Sunday, October 15.
Police allege that a group of men were involved in an argument which escalated and resulted in a 27-year-old Melton West man receiving a gunshot wound to his lower body.
Another man who was with the 19-year-old was arrested and both men are assisting police with their inquires.
