Applications open for tiny towns

Applications are now open for grants of up to $50,000 for small communities in Victoria.

The second round of the state government’s Tiny Towns Fund have been made available to places of up to 5000 people.

Grants between $5000 and $50,000 will be available through Regional Development Victoria to boost tourism, liveability, and pride in eligible towns.

The money is aimed to support towns to bring to life projects that celebrate community spirit and make a positive difference to locals.

This can range from new barbecues and walking trails to sporting club and community hall upgrades.

Eureka MP Michaela Settle welcomed the renewed funding and said it not only boosted economic growth in the community but also important social engagement.

“Small towns are the heartbeat of regional Victoria, and the Tiny Towns Fund helps local groups put on events and commit to projects that make their communities even better,” she said.

The first round of the Tiny Towns Fund supported more than 200 projects in 181 towns across regional Victoria, with $7 million provided to projects/

Communities in Melton and Moorabool that have not yet received a grant or think they have worthy project ideas are encouraged to apply.
