Police have arrested two teenagers in relation to an aggravated home invasion in Wyndham Vale, which occurred at the weekend.
About 5.45am on Saturday, police were called to a Peppermint Grove residence after five males armed with weapons forced entry into the house.
The males made demands for a car belonging to one of the residents. The car was stolen shortly afterwards.
The three occupants of the home, an 80-year-old man, a 66-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman, were not injured during the incident.
The vehicle was recovered at Point Cook later that morning.
Yesterday, police executed search warrants at a number of properties in Melbourne’s northwest, in relation to the incident.
Detectives arrested an 18-year-old Melton West man at a commercial property in Thomastown.
He faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with aggravated home invasion and theft of a motor vehicle. He was remanded to face court again on December 10.
Police also arrested a 16-year-old Glenroy boy. He faced a children’s court yesterday charged with aggravated home invasion and theft of a motor vehicle and was remanded to appear in court at a later date.
Detectives are appealing for three other offenders involved in the home invasion to come forward.
