An ABC Radio Melbourne program will broadcast live from the Melton Library lawn on Thursday, November 3.

Virginia Trioli will broadcast her Mornings program, covering the election issues of the region between 8.30am and 11am.

The Mornings program visited Melton during the 2018 state election and they’ll be picking up where they left off, finding out what progress has been made and what’s most important to Melton residents four years on.

Ms Trioli will be joined by the Melton candidates to discuss and debate the key issues and their plans for the electorate.

It will also be an opportunity for Melton residents to have their voice heard by candidates and

to learn more about who is vying for their vote.

Ms Trioli said the major political parties are paying a lot of attention to Melbourne’s west for good reason at this election.

“The Melton electorate is growing rapidly and they are desperate for development. Four years

ago when the Mornings program last visited, they were asking for a public hospital, new

schools and upgrades to major roads. It’s important for my show to return and find out what

progress has been made by talking to the community,” she said.

Melton Mayor Goran Kesic said council is “delighted” to be hosting ABC Radio Melbourne live from Melton Library.
