A new beginning for Kryal Castle

The end of Victoria’s COVID-19 lockdown feels like “a new beginning” for Kryal Castle, according to general manager Bart Hamilton.

The castle, located in Leigh Creek, has not been able to welcome visitors from metropolitan Melbourne under the COVID-19 restrictions. As of Friday, they were able to welcome them back with open arms.

“We rely so heavily on our guests from Melbourne to allow us to trade at full capacity and the fact that the state is whole again is a sense of pride and relief for all of our employees,” Mr Hamilton said.

“The stop/start nature of the pandemic has been the hardest aspect to deal with for the Castle.

“We would plan a holiday campaign, spend our marketing budget to spread the word and then be shut down days before the holidays were due to start.

“The thought that lockdowns are most likely a thing of the past allows us to plan and operate with far more confidence.”

Mr Hamilton said there were a variety of new attractions to look out for at the castle.

“As we approach the summer holidays look out for a wave of new additions to the Castle,” he said.

“We have an augmented reality treasure hunt arriving, an axe-throwing arena, a whole summer of fairy tales to delight the kids and, of course, the usual array of knights, wizards, princesses and more!”
