Kurunjang parents are pleading with burglars to return the ashes of their three stillborn children.
Mark and Joanne Valiukas came back to a ransacked home about 6pm yesterday before discovering a parcel, marked as the cremated remains of the Valiukas’ three children, was stolen.
The brown parcel, about the size of a brick, was in the couple’s bedroom.
“The burglars may not have realised the parcel contained the remains of the three children,” Melton Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Chris Jackman said.
“Hopefully they have the decency to bring it back.”
Mrs Valiukas is urging the burglars to bring back her children she lost more than 15 years ago.
“To lose them once was agony,” Mrs Valiukas said.
“Please just send my children to me. I want my children back.”
Police believe a white Commodore sedan, with white and red personalised plates, can assist them.
