Superbuses hit Bacchus Marsh as service triples

State-of-the-art buses arrived in Bacchus Marsh on time last week to help launch the town’s new bus network .

The three new Euro 5 Volvo buses expanded to seven the bus fleet servicing the town 365 days a year.

The general manager of Bacchus Marsh Coaches, Dave Nickels, said he was thrilled to be handed the keys to the new buses and hoped the community would make the most of the new services.

Bus frequency has also improved under the new network, with one bus every 20 minutes in peak times and every 30 minutes in off-peak times compared to hourly arrivals before. Buses also meet every train at Bacchus Marsh station.

“We’re basically tripling the service,” Mr Nickels said. “We’re running 365 days a year . . . it’s going to be sensational and I think the town will be really, really happy.”
