The paper-bag lunch order has become old hat at Wedge Park primary school, as the canteen jumps onboard with a system allowing parents to pay for lunch orders using their computer or phone.
The Ultimate Schools online canteen has already been picked up by other primary schools in Melton and Moorabool, including Darley and Woodend schools.
Wedge Park canteen manager Jenny Carr said it was an effective tool for managing the lunch demands of 250 pupils.
“Parents can pre-order as many weeks ahead as they like. For example, you could arrange for your child to have a Friday lunch order for the whole term.”
Ultimate Schools co-founder Andrew Docherty said the system could save parents time and money and reduce food wastage.
