The future of agriculture was the main focus of a meeting between Agriculture Minister Peter Walsh and 40 local farmers in Dunnstown last Tuesday.
Rural Advisory Committee founder Chris Sharkey said the meeting was empowering.
“It was good to get his perspective on the future of agriculture in Victoria and where we’re going in terms of exporting and in foreign markets,” the Balliang East farmer said.
National Party candidate for Buninyong Sonia Smith said talks included practical advice to help farmers make their businesses more profitable.
“We need to make it easier for farmers to win market share domestically and build a regional export profile overseas,” she said.
