Diggers Rest residents will get the chance to have their say about the creation of a new Sunbury municipality.
The Sunbury Out of Hume community consultative committee will conduct a
series of listening posts and public forums, including one in Diggers Rest, as part of a four-week consultation period.
The meetings are aimed at allowing the committee to hear resident views to take to a local government panel that will decide the new municipal boundaries and transition arrangements, including distribution of assets and delivery of municipal services.
Diggers Rest is split between Hume and Melton municipalities, with residents living in Hume likely to be included in the new shire.
The Diggers Rest listening post will be at the Diggers Rest General Store this Friday from 4-5pm.
Residents can make written submissions until April 14.
