Darley soil storage site ‘a top picnic spot’, says resident

Darley resident Chris Huculak is urging Moorabool council to protect a picturesque reserve from developers.

Madison Circuit Reserve, overlooking the Darley brickworks, is used to store mounds of soil.

Mr Huculak said the reserve had the best panoramic views of Bacchus Marsh, Lerderderg State Park and Bald Hill, and should be considered as a potential picnic spot. “My fear is that the land will be sold off to developers,” he said.

Council last week carried Cr Tonia Dudzik’s that called on officers to provide a report on plans for the reserve. She asked that it include details of the soil stockpiling. “Any improvements need to be considered and linked into future planning initiatives and strategic documents,” she said.
