Zara, Tobias, Alix and Chelsea have taken the first steps of their education journey at Melton South Primary School.
They were among 63 preps who started at the school last Thursday.
An Education Department spokesman said there were about 1500 preps in Melton and 300 preps in Moorabool this year.
