Melton’s Layla is ready to make capital saves

Melton’s Layla Lopez is thrilled about being chosen to represent Victoria in the under-12 division of next year’s national futsal championships in Canberra.

Layla, 10, says she’s looking forward to representing her state after taking up the sport just two years ago.

Her mother, Natalie, says the St Catherine’s Primary School pupil is excited about travelling interstate.

“It’s a great opportunity for her and it’s what she wants to do in the future.”

Natalie is planning a fund-raiser to help collect the $2000 needed to pay for the trip.
