Paralympian Ahmed Kelly inspires Kurunjang students

Paralympian Ahmed Kelly gave a motivational speech to year 10 students at Kurunjang Secondary College last Friday as part of Health and Physical Education Week.

Encouraging students to do their best to overcome adversity, Kelly touched on his personal experiences which included being born with deformities to all four limbs.

He said he was still able to drive a car, finish year 12 and compete as a swimmer at the London Paralympics.

Health and PE teacher Nicole Hardman said the speech capped off a week of activities celebrating health.

“The activities have proven to be very popular with both staff and students, with many now looking for additional opportunities to be active.”
