Walled-in history at Coburn primary

A DESCENDANT of one of Melton’s first settler families, Bernard Coburn (pictured), has celebrated Coburn Primary School’s new history wall with pupils Declan, 7, and Mason, 5.

Art teacher Kate Rozsa said the mural was created to recognise the significant contributions the Coburn family made to the settlement of Melton.

“Having a mural erected at the school will allow future generations of children to learn about the history of Melton as well as having a valuable resource for the community,” she said.

The wall was unveiled by Mr Coburn last Wednesday.
