Songstress takes the stage at Flavours of Moorabool

A young Ballan songwriter who has made her mark on the world stage will play to home crowds next month for the Flavours of Moorabool festival.

Demi Louise, 23, will be one of the home-grown acts to perform at the August 28 festival at St Anne’s Vineyard at Myrniong.

The songstress made the bold decision to travel the world and grow a fan base organically via live shows, and has wowed audiences at festivals in Texas, Kansas, New York, Liverpool, South Korea and Toronto.

Her debut singleRuins, reached No. 7 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter chart, and in 2014 she won Pop Song of the Year at the Australian Songwriters Association awards.

Flavours of Moorabool will showcase fresh local produce and culinary delights, and wines for which Moorabool is famous.

The festival will include an art market, food and wine stalls, vintage cars, sheep-herding by kelpies, animal exhibitions, and craft workshops.

Cooking masterclasses will familiarise aspiring chefs with the best of local produce, and traders will be there, as will two pop-up restaurants.

Flavours of Moorabool runs from 11am until 4pm.
