The Bacchus Marsh Horticulture Show is more than your “typical flower show”.

The region’s green thumbs are being invited to enter their plants, vegies and flowers to be in the running for first prize.

Organising committee member Jock Taylor encouraged everyone from all ages to enter this year’s show.

Categories include roses, cut flowers, floral art, Australian natives, pot plants, garden produce or juniors.

And the best “overall” exhibit will receive a rosette, sash and prize.

“Children 14 and under may enter the junior section, but they can also enter any other section, such as the garden produce.”

Ms Taylor said there will be plenty happening on the day to keep everyone entertained.

The Bacchus Marsh Horticulture Show will be held at the Public Hall, Main Street, Bacchus Marsh on Saturday, October 22 from noon-5pm, and from 9am-4pm on Sunday, October 23.

Entry is $5 for adults, while children under 14 are admitted free.
