Girls and boys, ladies and gentlemen … you’re invited to try out a free game of golf this Sunday.
In a bid to bring young people to the game – and quash rumours it’s a “retired man’s” sport – Melton Pro Golf Shop will offer a free try-out day.
Golf professional and shop manager Mark Jackson said the try-out day was about getting people to pick up a golf club, then go from there.
“A lot of people don’t understand how enjoyable golf can be,” Mr Jackson said. “It has a lot of good qualities – it teaches kids about time management and punctuality, and it’s a great exercise for people who sit at a desk all day.”
Try-outs will be between 10am and 2pm on Sunday, February 19, at Melton Valley Golf Club, 2-30 Melton Valley Drive, Melton.
