For lovers of the classics at Bacchus Marsh, the annual Hot Rod Car Show returns

Hundreds of custom-made vintage cars and bikes will be on display in Bacchus Marsh next month.

The annual Hot Rod Car Show is returning for its 11th year and car-lovers are invited.

There will be opportunities for people to find unique car parts and car-related memorabilia at the swap meet market, which opens at 7am, Sunday, October 16, at Maddingley Park, Station Street, Bacchus Marsh. Entry is $5.

First aid for the young set

Children aged eight-14 will learn basic resuscitation and first-aid skills at a workshop on Tuesday, October 18, 4.15-5.45pm, at the Hillside community centre, Royal Crescent. Tickets cost $25.

Expo in Bacchus Marsh

Bacchus Marsh U3A will be host an expo as part of Seniors Week celebrations.

Mental first-aid

First-aid trainers from Premium Health will offer mental health first-aid awareness workshops, 6-9pm, Tuesday, October 11, at Stevenson House, 10 Stevenson Crescent, Caroline Springs. Tickets cost $45.

More than 50 exhibitors – who deliver support, services or resources to carers, people with a disability or older people – will be at the annual CARE Melton Expo, from 10am-2pm on Thursday, October 13 at the Melton community hall, 232 High Street.

Harness your charity instincts

Enjoy an evening of harness racing while raising funds for Combined Churches Caring foodbank, Western Health Foundation and Hope Street, on Friday, October 21, from 6pm, at Tabcorp Park, corner of Ferris Road and Western Freeway, Melton. Tickets cost $45 per person, which includes a two-course buffet and a racebook.
