Staughton College’s Variety Showcase will touch the hearts and souls of all.

Students have been busy preparing for the show, under the carnival theme banner, and should delight the audience with their musicals, dances and drama performances this weekend.

Year 12 student Oliver is the night’s MC and describes himself “as a ringmaster of sorts”.

“I’ve loved theatre ever since year 7, and I’ve always been a part of it,” Oliver said.

“I love the idea of a ‘variety show’ and packing [everything] into one awesome show.”

Year 11 student Shaylyn, who’s had dancing lessons since she was three years old, has been helping choreograph some of the show’s dances.

“I just really enjoy musical theatre and the atmosphere. I like being the centre of attention sometimes,” she said, laughing.

“[The audience] can expect a really good night.

“We have comedy acts, dance acts – something for everyone.”

The show will run from 6.30pm on August 9 and 10 at Staughton College’s multifunction room, 26 Wilson Road, Melton South.

Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased from www.staughtoncollege.vic.edu.au
