Whether you’re coming for the famous English scones, to taste the homemade preserves or just to have a jolly good time, the Burnside Retirement Village annual fete is sure to please.

The fete, now in its 14th year, has raised thousands of dollars that has helped pay for a range of activities and equipment at the retirement village, including birthday lunches and Christmas-in-July functions.

Village resident Marlene Gorman said the day was a chance for the community to check out some of the fantastic things on offer and for residents to have a good time.

“And if we do make some money, we can put it in our community fund … and purchase things just to make it a little bit more comfortable for residents,” Ms Gorman said.

“Not everybody is able to get out and about to functions outside of the residence, so it’s important we’re able to put things on at the [retirement village].”

The fete will run from 9am-3pm on Sunday, March 26, at the Burnside Retirement Village, 16 Nicol Avenue.
