Unmissable classic: 15 Rimbanda Court, Kurunjang, 3337

A first-time market entrant, this is a genuine gem. Built in 1991 to a very high standard, the residence is the type with character that will stand the test of time. It’s also in the class of those that will respond incredibly well to a contemporary update, creating a potential showpiece in the process.

At the end of a tucked-away court, and on about 870 square metres, the house is fronted by a vast expanse of grey concrete, so whoever lives in the attached unit (bedroom, bathroom, laundry, kitchen, lounge) can park with ease. This unit is perfect for extended family or a teen wanting personal space, or even as a rental prospect; it has its own garden and tool sheds.

Pencil pines and trimmed hedges light the way to the abode’s entry, which is to a wide tiled walkway, down one side of which are two step-down rooms under steeply angled timber ceilings with exposed beams. One is a lounge room, the other a games room.

On the other side, under the same soaring ceiling, is an open dining room with a wallpaper accent rising to the highest point.

The entirely open-plan layout then has the kitchen abutting a family space with bamboo floorboards and exposed brick feature wall.

The giant kitchen, loaded with Tasmanian myrtle cabinetry with diamond-paned uppers, has a walk-in pantry, brekkie bench for six, dishwasher, wall oven and 900mm gas cooktop. A full-width window behind the sink frames views of some of the many fruit trees on the immaculate block.

The main bedroom, with bamboo floorboards, is to the right of entry; it has a walk-in robe and en suite.

Another bedroom, with mirrored built-in robe as in others, is off the family room, while two more share a bamboo-floored hallway with the main bathroom with spa tub.

Steps down from the family room lead to a pergola with a brick barbecue, bistro blinds and tropical plantings. The fenced backyard has a vegie patch, chicken coop and a great array of fruit trees, as well as a pink table wine grapevine. Pencil pines provide shade to a good patch of lawn.

Ducted heating, evaporative cooling and a double garage with in-roof storage are included in this not-to-be-missed property.
