Polish and pizzazz: 19 Benalla Avenue, Eynesbury, 3338

This is one of those swish contemporary abodes that seem to proliferate in Eynesbury, one of Victoria’s youngest towns. It’s loaded up with glam and sophistication over the nearly 40 squares and much heed has been paid to life-simplifying technology and energy savings.

On a block of about 770 square metres, the house has entry to a hallway laid with polished timber flooring under a 2.7-metre ceiling.

Wall paint is pearl-grey, trims are white, carpet and floor tiles are shades of grey and casement plantation shutters or roller blinds are at windows. Everything gleams with freshness and light.

The floorboards continue past a carpeted open lounge room and into the step-down living domain, the sophisticated heart of the home. The gorgeous kitchen, with a large walk-in pantry, has a stone-topped island bench, white 2pac cabinetry, glass-doored upper cupboards, glass splashback and Smeg 900mm cooker and dishwasher.

An equally well-considered laundry has oodles of storage, and there’s a powder room.

As well as a downstairs guest bedroom and separate study, there are four up top, ranged around a spacious carpeted living room. The extra-big main bedroom, with access to a front balcony, has a walk-in robe and a chic en suite with dual vanity basins and a sensuous freestanding tub. Secondary fitted bedrooms have floorboards and share a smart main bathroom.

Accessed via bifolds, a timber deck, covered with a very versatile Vergola, has timber and decorative screens and wooden seating. It looks out to a backyard with the same minimalist look and design as the front gardens.

Those energy savers include double glazing, LED downlights and no less than 32 solar panels which have potential to cut electricity bills down to zero.

And the technology? Wiring with alarm and full network, CBUS wiring, and more than 10 TV cat 5 and internet points allocated throughout.

Other perks include ducted heating, split-system, satin light switches, three-phase power and a drive-through double garage.
