Gamers welcome

Challenge the best at a free Magic: The Gathering gamers’ tournament at Sunbury library on January 20 from noon until 4pm. Create a deck from sealed boosters, and battle others for a chance to win MTG boosters.

Participants must know and understand the rules of MTG. All cards supplied. Bring your own decks for casual MTG games after the tournament.

 

Get creative

Print and decorate your own canvas tote bag as part of the free school holidays activities program at Sunbury library. Bags provided.

 

Evening nature walk

Discover gliders, wallabies, native birds, bats, possums and maybe even a koala during an evening tour of Hanging Rock Reserve on January 15, starting 5pm.

Pick up some fresh summer produce and discover what’s on offer at Riddells Creek Farmers Market, which starts on January 16, from 9am to 1pm, at Main Road, Riddells Creek.

 

Fun run

Kick off the new year with a free fun run hosted by the Macedon Ranges Running Club on Australia Day, January 26, from 8am at Sankey Reserve, Gisborne.

Free breakfast

Join Kyneton’s free community barbecue breakfast on Australia Day, 8-10am, at Kyneton Mechanics Reserve, courtesy of Kyneton Lions Club in conjunction with Rotary, Zonta and Macedon Ranges council. Kyneton RSL sub-branch members will raise the Australian flag at 9am.

Track and river run

The Kyneton Track and River Fun Run on February 7 starts and finishes at the Kyneton Racetrack and takes in the Kyneton river walk. Register online. Adults $25, under 18s $20, family of four $70.
