A last-quarter blitz from Melbourne University earned a thrilling one-point win over Melton in men’s Big V Basketball on Saturday night.
Leading by nine points heading into the final term, the Thoroughbreds couldn’t finish off their good work, conceding 32 points to go down by the barest of margins 92-91.
Jeff Crowe finished the match as Melton’s leading scorer, putting up 23 points, including four three-pointers.
He was well supported by Cameron McCallum, who scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds.
