Coburn Primary School turns 40

Coburn Primary School students and staff are eagerly looking forward to blowing out 40 candles at the end of the year.

The Melton South school has turned 40, and a fitting celebration is being planned.

Assistant principal Ben Sacco said the event would be much more birthday than school fete.

“The day is about reaching out to the local community and saying, ‘Hey we want to put on a day to celebrate this school and the community – who wants to join us?’,” he said.

With attractions ranging from rides and magicians to face-painting and food vans, he said there will be something to tickle everyone’s fancy.

Mr Sacco said the school wanted to organise a fun-filled day and recognise those who had contributed to the school in any way.

“The kids are pumped,” he says. “And the staff are relieved their level of supervision on the day will be minimal.”

The birthday party will be on Friday, December 11, from 3.30-8pm.

Anyone interested in sponsoring the event can call Mr Sacco on 9971 2900.
