Sunbury will stand between Bacchus Marsh and back-to-back Gisborne and District Cricket Association premier division Twenty20 titles when the teams meet in the final at Clarke Oval tonight.
Bacchus Marsh eliminated form team Riddell with a 27-run semi-final win, while Sunbury beat Sunbury United by 29 runs.
An even spread of Sunbury scorers helped it to 8-176 against United, with Michael Treweek and Jason McGann equal top scorers with 34.
McGann led the bowling with 2-15 as Sunbury United was restricted to 8-147.
United was 8-98 before a rally from Joshua Wallace (21no) and Mark Boyes (22no) took it to the end of the 20 overs but without being able to match the run-rate required.
Bacchus Marsh beat Riddell in the other semi-final, its 6-192 beating the Bombers’ 165. Riddell’s Hayden Castle made 58 in the chase but started to run out of partners as the Bombers struggled.
The final at Clarke Oval in Sunbury starts at 5.45pm today.
In district division, Ashfield and Rupertswood will meet in the final at Boardman Oval in Sunbury, also from 5.45 this evening.
