Melton Centrals won by one wicket in its A-Turf campaign against St Johns on Saturday in the Williamstown & District Cricket Association.
Abhishek Aggarwal took 4-24 as Centrals sent in St Johns and contained the visitors to 7-139 at Blackwood Reserve.
Centrals lost steady wickets in the chase, with Steven Robertson top-scoring with 34. Scott Dowling (24) fell six runs from victory.
Division rival Melton South started with a loss after falling 115 runs short against Williamstown Imperials.
Ryan Hinton’s 114 led Imperials to 4-224, but no Melton South batsman passed 20 as the chase ended at 109 all out in 33 overs.
