Moorabool council officers will conduct random fire safety audits of properties across the shire before the bushfire season begins.
A fire prevention notice will be issued to any landowners who have not cut grass and undergrowth to 10 centimetres or removed all tree, garden and general waste.
For large properties, 10-metre firebreaks must be prepared on all boundaries.
