Melton is heading for the FFV state league 5 play-offs after winning SL5 north-west by two points.
A 4-1 defeat to Sebastopol Vikings on Saturday meant the final margin between Melton (54 points) and Point Cook (52) was a little misleading, given the Phoenix were clear on top for much of the season.
Bundoora United won state 5 north and will be Melton’s next opponent in the play-offs to be the division champion. Ringwood City claimed state league 5 east, while St Kilda won state league 5 south.
Play-offs are one-off matches at neutral venues. For more information, go to footballfedvic.com.au
