ARTHUR Clegg has lived on Fisken Street for more than 10 years.
The retired civil engineer, 88, said the roadworks proposal would be an impractical and disruptive solution to Bacchus Marsh’s traffic woes.
“What would happen at the railway crossing at peak train travel times? And would you have trucks travelling so close to where school children walk?”
The Avenue Bowling Club president said such a move could also kill the club on Crook Street.
“We have 170 members and have always been on the same site,” he said.
