AN elderly woman has died after being struck by a car in Melton West this morning.
The 74-year-old stepped out in front of an oncoming vehicle on High Street, near Trethowan Avenue, at about 9.30am.
The woman was flown to The Alfred hospital with serious head injuries, but later died.
The vehicle was being driven by a Melton man in his 60s.
Witnesses are urged to contact Melton police on 9747 7999.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
