Melton school leads way in tackling educational disadvantage

A new program aimed at tackling educational disadvantage has been praised by Melton Secondary College. Students Luke Newell, Gordana Ostojic and Sian Holmes (pictured with teacher Liz Cullen, principal David Reynolds and Western Victorian MP Simon Ramsay) are among those benefiting from the Teach for Australia program, which recruits teaching graduates and trains them to work in disadvantaged areas. Mr Reynolds says the school’s Teach for Australia teachers, Kathryn Sobey and Ms Cullen, are talented individuals who have brought great passion to their roles.
