MELTON Phoenix missed the chance to take top of the table outright in FFV provisional league 3 north west after a 1-1 draw away at Balmoral on Saturday.
Ladder leader Darebin United also dropped points with its 1-1 draw against third-placed Melbourne Tornado.
It means Darebin still leads the ladder with 17 points and plus-five goal difference, from Tornado (17, +3) and Melton chasing the promotion candidates (16, +10).
Melton’s women were held 0-0 by last-placed Diamond Valley United in women’s state league 3 north-west on Friday night.
The draw leaves Melton sixth on the ladder with 10 points.
