MOWBRAY College’s VCE students say the thought of staying together is what’s keeping them going, with their classes continuing until June 22.
They said the decision to close the school had been devastating, but friendships were softening the blow.
“That’s all that is getting us through at moment, staying together,” Amy Govic, 17, said.

Of the 75 VCE students at Mowbray, about 60 have enrolled at Catholic Regional College in Sydenham for next semester.
All students will be given special consideration for their mid-year exams.
“We’re already under the pump … year 12 was easy compared to this now,” Taylor McAleer, 17, said.
Tearful students said they could not praise their teachers enough for their help during an uncertain time.
In the wake of the school’s closure last week, Melton MP Don Nardella and Kororoit MP Marlene Kairouz
called on Transport Minister Terry Mulder to provide a bus service linking the Melton campus and Sydenham CRC next term.
They also urged the state government to work with Mowbray’s administrator, the Victorian Independent Employees Union and teachers to help them secure their entitlements.
Speaking in State Parliament, the Labor MPs also asked the government to help the community either salvage the school or establish a new independent school in the outer west.
