Ballarat NL: Darley upsets ladder leader

DARLEY has scored one of its biggest wins of the season, upsetting ladder leader Lake Wendouree 29-24 in round 7 of the Ballarat Netball League.

It was Lake Wendouree’s first defeat this season. Elyce Carlyle topped the scoresheet with 17 goals while Sarah Thompson netted 12.

There were some monster wins in other BNL matches, with East Point hammering Sebastopol by a staggering 66 goals (87-21) and Ballarat flogging Melton South 71-35.

East Point’s Catherine Maika had the game of her life with 76 goals, while Jordan Bibby found the centre of the ring 46 times.

Redan beat Melton 30-28 in a thriller and North Ballarat beat Sunbury 39-30.
