A BALLIANG East business famous for putting pets in penthouses is up for a pair of state awards.
Vern Ryan’s Pet Resort is a finalist in two categories, micro-business and regional, at the Telstra Victorian Business Awards.
The resort, which began as a basic boarding kennel 15 years ago, has been transformed into a boutique-style boarding haven, with dogs treated to a full-sized bed, TV, leather couches and their own playground.
Mr Ryan says modern families treat their pets more like family members. “We cater for a very special clientele and take pet boarding to new levels.” Awards will be presented on July 31.
