Power wastage costing Moorabool residents $1.7m

Moorabool residents are wasting electricity amounting to $1.7million each year.

According to an essential services report, most of the money is wasted on powering appliances on standby mode.

The Essential Services Commission said residents could slash hundreds of dollars a year off their electricity bills by installing a smart switch that detects electronic equipment which is not in use.
