THE call has gone out to Moorabool musicians — your talents are required in November.
The Strawberries & Cherries Weekend will return in November (17 and 18), but with extra musical grunt.
‘‘We’re very keen to hear from local musicians to play,’’ Bacchus Marsh Tourism Association’s Tina Seirlis said.
Ms Seirlis said the event, along with the Bacchus Marsh Harvest Festival (March 17) — both approaching their seventh year — had grown steadily as premium advertisements for the area.
‘‘We’ve seen consistent growth in visitation,’’ she said.
‘‘We’re all about promoting Bacchus Marsh as an amazing destination, and businesses have seen a strong return on their investment in these festivals.
‘‘One business owner said last year they experienced the best day’s trading in five years.’’
Both events remain free to the public, and free for community and not-for-profit groups to join.
New additions to the Strawberries & Cherries Weekend program will include ‘foodie based competitions’, the search for Bacchus Marsh’s Best Spring Garden and a stack more live music.
Traditional and popular activities such as cherry pip spitting, pick your own, wine tasting, the Strawberries & Cherries Trail, and horse and carriage rides will remain.
A free shuttle bus service will operate from the Bacchus Marsh train station to the event.
